If you’ve had a treatment at Eyre Place, there’s a good chance it was with Glynis — she’s our Principal Osteopath, and she’s been treating patients here in Edinburgh for over two decades.
In the clinic
Glynis has a particular interest in persistent pain — patients who’ve been living with pain for a long time and want to understand more about what is happening. Rather than just chasing symptoms, she works with people to unpick the underlying causes and find practical ways to feel more in control day to day. It’s careful, unhurried work, built on the belief that the best outcomes come from a genuine partnership between practitioner and patient — one where the patient is listened to, respected, and encouraged to keep doing the things that matter to them in creating a shared action plan.
Mentoring and team leadership
As Principal Osteopath, Glynis leads the team — Eyre Place now has four osteopaths plus a counsellor and massage therapist — and she encourages each of them in their career development. She supports junior colleagues through complex cases, checks in on their progress, and has built a culture at Eyre Place she describes as confident, professional, and caring.
That mentoring instinct goes beyond Eyre Place too: Glynis set up OsteoCoach specifically to give osteopaths tailored, ongoing support throughout their careers — not just in the early years, but at every stage. She’s also long been involved in organising CPD and peer support for osteopaths.
Leadership in the profession
Beyond Eyre Place, Glynis is currently Vice President of Osteopathy Europe – OE and the chair of The National Council for Osteopathic Research- NCOR, She is invested in enabling osteopaths to shape the direction of the profession nationally and internationally. She’s especially focused on where osteopathy fits into the future of healthcare — helping people take a more active role in clinical practice and patients staying well rather than just treating problems once they arise.
