Ailis Buchanan
“I love to see patients feeling better about themselves mentally and physically. Sometimes it is the joy of getting back to doing something they love, sometimes it is feeling able to try a new activity.”
Ailis has experience in treating a wide variety of patients and has post-graduate training in Pilates, Cranial Osteopathy and Medical Acupuncture. She offers osteopathy or sessions that combine osteopathic treatment with Pilates exercises, which are particularly suited to people recovering from injury or surgery. She also offers one-to-one Pilates sessions, for an in-depth, personalised training programme, equally suited to sports people and those with persistent pain or postural issues.
Ailis has a keen interest in postural rehabilitation and strongly believes in the delivery of care specific to an individual’s needs.
Ailis is a member of the Scottish Osteopathic Society and the Institute of Osteopathy. After working as a gym instructor, personal trainer and massage therapist, Ailis followed her interest in functional health care and studied Osteopathy at The British College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her degree in 2004 with a Bachelor of Osteopathic Medicine and a Diploma of Naturopathy, followed by a further year of post graduate study in paediatric, sports and veterinary Osteopathy.
