Adrian Tupper

As a highly qualified and experienced counsellor, Adrian will work with you through your difficult times. Adrian has particular interests in relationships in all their expressions, workplace stress and helping people towards confidence and empowerment.  He offers counselling to individual adults regardless of age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, race and history.

The work we will do uses a psychodynamic approach, where we explore unconscious processes that affect us, such as your defence mechanisms, anxieties and the otherwise overwhelming emotions that they repress. By bringing these to consciousness, we can start to move away from compulsive behaviour towards conscious choice. Above all, Adrian is a compassionate listener and nothing you say will be judged for being shameful.

Adrian is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and consequently practises within their ethical framework, which includes minimum levels of supervision and continuing professional development. Adrian began his career in the engineering and financial sectors, then studied counselling, attaining a PgDip in 2007 and an MSc in 2008. He became a supervisor in 2019.
